About the Award
The Excellence in Public Service Delivery Award is a national award presented annually by the Public Sector Service Delivery Council (PSSDC) to an individual and a team/project within the Canadian public sector in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the promotion of excellence in public service delivery.
Recognizing that customers can be internal or external, excellence in public service delivery can be demonstrated by an individual or group with a strong service ethic who provides efficient, effective and seamless service delivery.
Nominations must be of individuals or teams/projects* that are employed by a jurisdiction who is a member of either the Public Sector Service Delivery Council (PSSDC) or the Public Sector Chief Information Officer Council (PSCIOC), including municipalities**, and that is:
- Currently employed for more than 6 months with the member organization; and
- Either a citizen/customer facing or internal support organization.
NOTE: For team nominations, the team lead is required to meet the above criteria.
* Project/Team
The project or team is a group of individuals, with appropriate and complementary professional, technical or specialist skills, who are responsible for carrying out the work detailed in a pilot/project/project plan; they can be experienced/subject matter experts, however, having novices can help provide a different perspective. The project or team can come from within or work across jurisdictions or from within units; the size will depend on the nature of the work being undertaken.
**The Government of Canada and all Canadian provincial and territorial governments are represented on either the PSSDC and/or PSCIOC. Canadian municipalities are represented on PSSDC by the Municipal Service Delivery Officials (MSDO) organization and, on PSCIOC, by the Municipal Information Systems Association (MISA).
